Compost
Rotted plant and kitchen waste used to feed soil; also a name for bagged potting mix.
Compost has two meanings. Garden compost is what you get when leaves, clippings and vegetable scraps rot down into a dark, crumbly material that improves any soil. In Britain and some other countries, compost also means the bagged growing mix used in pots and for seeds. Used flowers can be composted too. In several Indian cities, temple flower waste is collected and turned into compost or incense instead of being thrown into rivers.
