Pollinator
An animal that carries pollen from flower to flower, such as a bee, moth, bird or bat.
A pollinator visits flowers for food, usually nectar or pollen, and moves pollen between them as it goes. Bees are the best known. Others include hoverflies, butterflies, moths, beetles, wasps, hummingbirds in the Americas, sunbirds in Africa and Asia, honeyeaters in Australia and nectar-feeding bats in the tropics. Flowers are often matched to their visitors. Red tubular flowers with little scent tend to suit birds. Pale, strongly scented flowers that open at dusk tend to suit moths.
