Climber
A plant with long, weak stems that climbs on other plants or supports to reach the light.
Also: vine, creeper
Climbers cannot hold themselves up. They use other things: they twine their stems, as wisteria and morning glory do, grip with tendrils, as sweet peas and passion flowers do, cling with small roots or pads, as ivy does, or hook on with thorns, as climbing roses and bougainvillea do. In gardens they cover walls, arches and pergolas. In Indian English, climbers are usually called creepers, and jasmine and Rangoon creeper over a gate are a common sight.
