Bouquet
A bunch of cut flowers arranged to be held in the hand or given as a gift.
Also: bunch of flowers
A bouquet is flowers gathered by their stems into one bunch. It may be loose and wrapped in paper, or carefully built, as a bridal bouquet is. Common shapes include the round posy, the hand-tied spiral, the long presentation sheaf carried on the arm, and the cascade that trails downwards. The word is French. Customs differ on what to give: in several European countries an odd number of stems is expected, and chrysanthemums are kept for graves.
