Corsage
A small arrangement of flowers worn on a dress, a wrist or a handbag at a formal event.
Also: wrist corsage
A corsage is one or a few flowers with a little foliage, wired and taped so it is light enough to wear. It may be pinned at the shoulder or tied to the wrist on a band. Orchids, spray roses and carnations are common because they last without water. Corsages are worn by mothers of the couple at weddings and, in the United States, are a custom at school proms, where a wrist corsage is often matched to a partner's lapel flower.
