Flower crown
A ring of flowers and leaves worn on the head.
Also: floral crown, chaplet, vinok, haku lei
Flower crowns are worn in many cultures. In Sweden, people make them from wildflowers and birch for Midsummer. In Ukraine, the vinok is a traditional wreath worn by girls and young women, with ribbons at the back. In Hawaii, a lei made for the head is called lei po'o. Brides in many countries wear crowns of blossom. A crown is built on wire or braided stems, using flowers that hold up for hours without water.
