Loose flower
Flowers picked without stems and sold by weight, for garlands, worship and decoration.
Also: loose flowers
In South and Southeast Asia, a large part of the flower trade has nothing to do with vases. Flowers are plucked as heads or buds, with no stem, and sold by the kilogram. Marigold, jasmine, crossandra, tuberose florets, chrysanthemum, rose and lotus are the main ones. They are strung into garlands, offered in temples, scattered at ceremonies and laid in floor designs. Loose flowers must be used within a day or two, so they are grown close to the cities that use them.
