Pomander
A ball of flowers hung from a ribbon, carried or used as hanging decoration.
Also: kissing ball, flower ball
In floristry a pomander is a sphere covered with flower heads, carried by a loop of ribbon. Flower girls and bridesmaids often carry one in place of a posy, and larger ones are hung from pew ends or ceilings. The word first meant a ball of perfumed material carried in a pierced case against bad smells. It is also used for an orange stuck all over with cloves and dried, a traditional winter decoration in parts of Europe.
