Lalbagh Republic Day Flower Show
Bengaluru's botanical garden fills its Glass House with a themed flower display that ends on Republic Day.

What happens
Lalbagh, the old botanical garden of Bengaluru, holds two flower shows a year. The winter one runs for about ten days and closes on or just after Republic Day, 26 January. The centrepiece stands inside the Glass House, a nineteenth century iron and glass hall, and is a large model built from lakhs of cut flowers on a theme that changes each time, often a monument or a famous person. Around it are displays by nurseries, vegetable carving and ikebana. Exact dates are announced each year.
